Molasses is rich in nutrients and is a great food source for micro organisms, (mycorrhizae, trichoderma etc.) Micro-organisms help break down minerals and nutrients to making it easier to absorb.
Molasses will improve the structure of your soil and increase the water retention. Molasses can also help control unwanted pests. If an insect ingests molasses, it will cause it to die with an exception to bees and sugar ants.
How to Use:
The benefits of molasses will be most noticed during the flowering period, but if can also be added in the vegetative stage at half strength.
Note: If you are using molasses in a dripper system, use at half strength to avoid clogging in the dripper or lines.
